12/12/2012 Little League Bulletin: Changes to 2012 LL Rules, Regulations and Policies

Nov. 23, 2011 Dear District Administrators and Local Little League Presidents:
Bulletin: Significant Policy, Rule, and Regulation Changes for 2012 Little League International today announced the full list of significant changes that will go into effect on Jan. 1, 2012, to the policies, rules and regulations of the program.

In order to give timely information to parents and leagues, some of the changes were announced several weeks ago. One change, in the bat regulations, has been further updated since the first announcement.

The update clarifies the penalty for using an illegal bat.

As always, thank you for your service to the children and families of your community, and please accept our best wishes for a safe, happy, and healthy holiday season.

Sincerely,
Little League International

Mission Statement:

It is our belief that the children of our community today are the cornerstones of tomorrow.  It is therefore our mission to provide baseball and softball programs where our sons and daughters can:

  • have fun
  • learn and develop basic skills
  • learn the rules of the game
  • be in a positive social atmosphere
  • learn to be part of a team
  • improve physical well being

The league has established and implements a policy that provides equal playing time and instructional opportunities for every participant.  The focus of this league is on player development and the enjoyment of the game.  Good sportsmanship is a requirement and must be demonstrated at all times by everyone – players, parents, spectators, and coaches. Competitive games are played, as appropriate to each age level.

The Huron Little League Baseball is a non-profit organization composed of volunteers dedicated to this mission.  Whether or not you choose to be a volunteer, we ask for your support of our mission.  The Board's goal is to provide a positive environment for the kids to learn and compete.  Every attempt is made to have competitive teams and close games.  Financial hardship will not prevent any child from playing.  Please know that you can freely discuss this, or any matter privately and in confidence with any Huron Little League Board Member.
